As mentioned by a few others, today was our Spring PNW Oppo Cruise! A great turnout with lots of awesome people and cars. I look forward to the footage from Eric & Studystudystudy as well as studystudystudy’s pictures!

Thanks to Eric for organizing and all those that came out!

The most Oppo thing I’ve ever seen was Tristan changing his kid on the trunk of the Studebaker.

My car was probably the most boring-est thing ever there. I guess that made it appealing for a nap while I was up at Johnston. :p

No! I love the intercepter. I have always wanted one

They aren’t difficult to acquire, but the opportunities are dwindling fast. One of my biggest problems with my car is the throttle is sometimes slow to respond. This is due to it being Throttle-By-Wire (Model years 09 through 11 are DBW).

In some cases, an ECM tune can fix the issue. I know a guy at Mo’s Speed Shop in Florida sells $520 kits which includes the hardware to make this happen, and includes the programming as well.

The dwindling opportunities makes me sad, I hope that people like you exist to take car of them. A police intercepter or SN95 mustang are my top two obtainable dream projects

That E550 coupe was a true sleeper. Fast as fuck.

Well, there are a lot of interceptors out there, they aren’t going away anytime soon. The main problem is that a lot of them tend to get picked up by taxi companies.

If you’ve got about... 5,000 bucks to spare, you could probably come to the states, find an auction, and snatch one up. Just be ready to trailer that thing, and deal with importation paperwork.

The good news is, unlike the U.S., Canada does not have that stupid 25-year import restriction on automobiles, I think.

Nothing beats an LHM leak though.

I don’t want to put you on the spot, but I’m still curious about to read about your experiences in the UK with the Audi ;)

You do! There’s a post coming (not by me) on Tuesday (probably) that might be a little bit of extra motivation.

I look forward to whatever this post is.

I used to have a passport. I went to Ireland in 2009. I will get one again soon and then I should go places again.

You totally do, the Americans have way, way better driving roads than we do. Also, cheap gas

Also, what are the chances of two colored Mercedes’ ever crossing paths??

Yeah that thing moves pretty well! Definitely had to give it a bit more throttle to keep up than with normal cars.

P7B.

The P71 are up to 2009, while P7B is 2010 and 2011. Don’t ask me why, it’s what the VIN says. :D

I learned something today. I haven’t followed the Panther scene since around 2008, so it makes sense that I didn’t know that!

P71 is still a generic catch-all referring to police vehicles of the Panther persuasion, though. :)

I used to have a P72! That was the pre-1993 code given to all fleet Crown Vics whether police or taxi. Mine was a 1987 police package with a variable venturi 351w. I wish I still had it!

So a cigar box. Also, 1987 is the Crown Victoria LTD. Those body types have a very special place in my heart, indeed.

Yessir. Some of my earliest memories are of riding in my mom’s baby blue ‘83 LTD Crown Vic station wagon. It was one of few non-Country Squire, non-woody base model wagons. Since then, I’ve owned the aforementioned ‘87, an ‘83 coupe, an ‘88 Country Squire wagon, an ‘89 Country Squire wagon, and an ‘85 Grand Marquis sedan. Box body Panthers were my “thing” for a long time.

I’m not saying it’s a bad thing! I said I like them, but I didn’t know anyone on here had one until now. It’s just different than the performance hatchbacks and wagons people seem to buy; I have a four-cylinder RAV4, so I’m in a boat of different cars, too.

It’s too bad you’re not closer. I always want to do an Oppo “Classics/Projects” drive.

I know that in my area, GMcTavish has his 86 Raider, I have my 86 D100, Zoidberg has his Toyota truck and StudyStudyStudy has his Datsun. Those are the projects/classics that move under their own power that I know of.
